Dogged by Hate

[ Warning!  If there is anyone out their who thinks I have perfected the Christian experience, the following post contains a big spoiler! ]

We are called to love, but is it wrong to hate a dog?  We have a dog that severely tests me.  I chased him all over the neighborhood this week end and never caught him.  Every time I would get close to  him, he would run the other way.  The things that welled up in my heart and mind were not good.  Not good at all.

  1. This dog severely tests me. He gets away whenever he can, won’t come when you call him (in fact runs the other way) then comes home when he wants to and expects to be let in the house and fed. Get’s under my skin more than any other animal I have ever owned. Tammy loves him though. She says “He needs me” and she’s right. Without her, he would have long since been dead.

Worse part is, it makes me mad that I let him make me mad. I suppose, he’s not exactly a gentile. He’s more of a prodical son. Over and over again. And I can’t bring myself to have the attitude of the Father.
