{"id":492,"date":"2010-06-01T18:20:50","date_gmt":"2010-06-01T22:20:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/markspruill.com\/blog\/?p=492"},"modified":"2010-06-01T18:25:47","modified_gmt":"2010-06-01T22:25:47","slug":"my-week-end-plans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/markspruill.com\/blog\/?p=492","title":{"rendered":"My Week-end Plans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It has been my observation (along with a little help from C.S.Lewis and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Screwtape Letters<\/span>) that one of the quickest ways to make someone mad is to frustrated his plans.\u00a0\u00a0 Such was the case with me this past week-end.\u00a0\u00a0I wanted to go hiking in the woods, but I did not.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll spare you all the details. Suffice it to say that the list of desired accomplishments for the week-end was much longer than the week-end would allow.\u00a0 What I had\u00a0hoped would be\u00a0quick, easy projects turned into long tedious ones.\u00a0 I got more and more frustrated as the\u00a0end of the day on Monday approached.\u00a0 I could see the opportunity for my hike slipping away and I still didn&#8217;t have my projects done.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0As late afternoon arrived, I\u00a0stomped out of the house, slamming\u00a0the door and yelling.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Nevermind that it had been my plans to do the projects.\u00a0 All I could think\u00a0about now was MY plan to go hiking.<\/p>\n<p>My holiday . . .\u00a0 My projects . . .\u00a0\u00a0My plans . . .\u00a0\u00a0 My time . . .\u00a0 I just hate it when MY stuff gets messed up.<\/p>\n<p><em>Where do the conflicts and where do the quarrels among you come from? Is it not from this, from your passions that battle inside you? . . .\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Come now, you who say, \u201cToday or tomorrow we will go into this or that town and spend a year there and do business and make a profit.\u201d\u00a0 You do not know about tomorrow.
