{"id":369,"date":"2010-01-26T18:40:10","date_gmt":"2010-01-26T23:40:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/markspruill.com\/blog\/?p=369"},"modified":"2010-01-26T21:25:28","modified_gmt":"2010-01-27T02:25:28","slug":"a-mile-or-two","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/markspruill.com\/blog\/?p=369","title":{"rendered":"A Mile or Two"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Christian co-worker had a wreck.\u00a0 Somebody hit her from behind.\u00a0 The guy that hit her pleaded for her to let him fix it without turning it into the insurance.\u00a0 He had his own shop, he said.\u00a0 He could fix it, he said.\u00a0 She agreed, and left her car by the road.\u00a0 He would send a truck to pick it up, he said.\u00a0 He wrote his contact information on a notepad.<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"More...\" src=\"http:\/\/markspruill.com\/blog\/wp-includes\/js\/tinymce\/plugins\/wordpress\/img\/trans.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I went to pick her up, and as we left her crumpled car sitting by the side of the road, she told me the story.\u00a0 I felt like I should let him fix it, she said.\u00a0 Other people have done that sort of thing for me, so it was my turn, she said.\u00a0 If you felt like that is what you should do, then it was probably the right thing to do, I said.\u00a0 As we left her car in the rear view mirror, I thought it might be the last time we would see it.<\/p>\n<p>When we got back to the office, the story spread.\u00a0 I think some were taking bets on whether or not she would ever see her car again.\u00a0 Today we found out.\u00a0 She picked up her car.\u00a0 It was fixed in less than a week.\u00a0\u00a0The guy\u00a0even made some repairs to damage on the front, which he didn&#8217;t cause.<\/p>\n<p>If someone asks you to go a mile, go two, He said . . .\u00a0 and she did.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0 &#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two.\u00a0 Give to the one who asks you,<sup>\u00a0<\/sup>and do not reject the one who wants to borrow from you.\u00a0 \u201cYou have heard that it was said, \u2018<em>Love your neighbor<\/em>\u2019<sup>\u00a0<\/sup>and \u2018hate your enemy.\u2019\u00a0 But I say to you, love your enemy and<sup>\u00a0<\/sup> pray for those who persecute you,\u00a0so that you may be like<sup>\u00a0<\/sup>your Father in heaven . . .<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211;
