{"id":2133,"date":"2014-01-29T11:25:05","date_gmt":"2014-01-29T16:25:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/markspruill.com\/blog\/?p=2133"},"modified":"2014-03-25T19:54:00","modified_gmt":"2014-03-25T23:54:00","slug":"stuck-at-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/markspruill.com\/blog\/?p=2133","title":{"rendered":"Stuck At Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s another snow day in Atlanta. \u00a0 This one caught some people by surprise. \u00a0The roads are an icy mess. \u00a0It all started yesterday about mid-day when, as the snow began to fall, people watched from their office windows, waiting anxiously for the word to abandon the office and head for home. \u00a0 For many, the word came too late. \u00a0A big city full of people all headed home at the same time. \u00a0With accidents collecting on the roads just about as fast as the<span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0snow and ice, the situation soon turned to complete gridlock. \u00a0Millions of people were trying to get home or to their kids at school, but nobody was going anywhere.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2136\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2136\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2136\" alt=\"At home in the snow\" src=\"http:\/\/markspruill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/SnowAtHome.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"405\" srcset=\"https:\/\/markspruill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/SnowAtHome.jpg 640w, https:\/\/markspruill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/SnowAtHome-150x94.jpg 150w, https:\/\/markspruill.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/SnowAtHome-300x189.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2136\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">At home in the snow<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Interstates became icy parking lots, packed so tightly with cars that salt trucks could not even get through to do their job. \u00a0People abandoned their cars and took shelter in nearby grocery stores, sleeping in aisles. \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Some children had to spend the night at school, others spent the night in a school bus. \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">People are stuck at work. \u00a0People are stuck at school. \u00a0People are stuck on the road. \u00a0And some people, are stuck at home.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">As is the case with most things in life, it&#8217;s all about where you&#8217;re coming from, where you are, and where you are going. \u00a0<\/span>I am one of the fortunate ones who made it home from work yesterday afternoon. \u00a0The office is closed today and I am stuck at home. \u00a0At home, the snow is beautiful. \u00a0At home it is warm. \u00a0At home, it is quiet and peaceful. \u00a0This winter snow, like other things in life, is either a trial or a blessing, depending on where you are. \u00a0And if God is with you, no matter where you are, you are always home.<\/p>\n<p><em>Jesus answered and said to him, &#8220;If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word;
