My son was ruthlessly attacked by vicious angry beasts this weekend.\u00a0 He was just trying to do a good deed.\u00a0 It made them angry, so they swarmed from the bowels of the earth and attacked.<\/p>\n
At first Sam didn’t understand what was happening.\u00a0 As he was mowing the grass, the pain hit him from out of nowhere and shot up with increasing intensity.\u00a0 He yelled and writhed as he was hit over and over again.\u00a0 He didn’t know what to do or how to stop the merciless, agonizing attack.<\/p>\n
I heard his cries, looked and saw what was happening.\u00a0 As the attack continued,\u00a0I yelled “Run Sam!\u00a0 Run!”\u00a0 He was too tortured to hear.\u00a0 I finally ran to him, guiding him to the safety of the garage.\u00a0 Even there, one of the tenacious monsters still continued to cling to the sock around his ankle, inflicting wound upon wound.\u00a0 He yanked off his shoes and socks then ran in the house, suffering in pain.<\/p>\n
It made me so angry.\u00a0 How dare these evil monsters attack my son with such ruthlessness.\u00a0 I grabbed a can of wasp spray, dashed out the door, and emptied its contents on the yellow jacket nest.\u00a0 It knocked down some, but still more swarmed around the nest.\u00a0 I went for a second can, gave them another dose, then turned attention to Sam.\u00a0 He had so many stings we had to take to the emergency room.<\/p>\n
There are still some yellow jackets in that nest, but their time is very limited.\u00a0 I will not rest until they are all gone forever.\u00a0 They will suffer my wrath for hurting my child.\u00a0 Tonight, while they are all in the nest, I am going to pour gasoline in their hole.\u00a0 Then, just to finish the job for sure, I’m going to throw in a lighted match.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Today is Father’s day.\u00a0 On this day\u00a0I think about what it means to be a father.\u00a0\u00a0 And as\u00a0I plan my vengeance on those evil monsters that attacked my son,\u00a0I realize my wrath burns so hotly because of the love I have for my child.\u00a0 I also think about God, the perfect father, who has adopted as His children\u00a0those who will accept Him.\u00a0 Although I can’t pretend to understand Him, I do feel like\u00a0I\u00a0am beginning to have an inkling of understanding about\u00a0“the wrath of God.”\u00a0 It’s funny, but somehow now, it feels like love.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
